All the centerpieces were bouquets of gorgeous red and white roses, with little hearts sticking out of each one, and they had little silver hearts wedding place card holders at each table setting. She really did do a bang up job on table décor They had their names and the date of the wedding inscribed on the wine glasses, and the champagne flutes were crystal. For the bride and groom, there were a couple of very richly adorned champagne glasses. They had a silver double hearts wedding insignia embossed on them, very similar to the hearts wedding invitation they sent out.
They had a five-layer hearts wedding cake that was really yummy. The cake was a dream for both the eyes and the stomach. Maybe the one place in the whole wedding where there wasn’t a heart was at the top of the cake, where they had a customized miniature replica of the bride and groom that looked exactly like them. That cake topper was one of a kind, and it was the first time I’ve ever seen something like that. She found it online at the same place she got the rest of the items she needed for her ceremony and reception. They apparently do customizing on wedding toppers, and all she had to do was send in photos of her and her fiance and they made the special cake topper couple. I’m sure they’ll treasure that forever.
It turned out to be a brilliant hearts wedding cake. First there was a lovely votive candle holder and also coffee favors decorated in a groom package for the men and a bride package for the ladies, with little heart shaped coffee scoops. A very original idea for them to think of, I felt. Really, there was no shortage of awesome thoughts for the wedding. I know hearts are the a perfect choice for a Valentines Day wedding, but I was impressed with all the gorgeous decorations and accessories she found for everything. In my opinion, the wedding cake topper took the cake, so to speak. That could work great on a birthday cake or maybe even a graduation cake, not just a wedding cake. She told me they have supplies and decorations for many events, and promised to show me where she shopped. It was a truly unforgettable evening, and the whole wedding was what every woman dreams of. The week they’re spending in Mexico is going even better for them than the wedding did, I’m sure. When they get back home, I’m anxious to look through their pictures with them, and hear about all the fantastic things we saw and did in Mexico. The pictures she showed me on the brochures were fantastic.

I associated babies with childhood, and I associate childhood with Ernie singing ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One’ on Sesame Street. It seemed like such a unique idea that I wasn’t sure if there would be enough rubber duck favors around to plan a theme around, but I realized what I started looking into it that the idea was more popular than I had imagined. Each had a poster or two of Mickey Mouse or one of his friends; the ones of Daffy Duck and Daisy Duck were enormous.
The place card holders I bought and put out at the shower were miniature pink picture frames that had a little ducky in each of the corners. The table settings had duck themed napkins, cup, paper plates, duck candles, and a duck-decorated punch bowl. I set the punch bowl, which was made of glass, inside of a bathtub for a baby that was made to look like a duck; the tub was just something I picked up at a nearby store. When you looked at it, you just wanted to say, ‘aww, how sweet.’ I also bought duck molds and filled them with yellow colored water for duck shaped ice cubes. Believe me, it was the most ducks you’ve ever seen in one place at one time.
Other than a few things that people at school suggested to me, I borrowed most of my ideas from things I saw online. So, I decided to start with the decorations for my reception tables first. My centerpieces fit right in with a country western motif, as I used metal buckets filled with daisies, and used tablecloths with red and white checks over all the picnic tables. I bought adorable little barbecue grills as place card holders, which I let all the guests keep after the reception. I figured little barbecue grills were a neat idea, since we weren’t having a catered reception, but instead, a large family cookout. To have the feel of the old west, we added little miniature cowboy hats for everyone’s place setting and set out cowboy boot shaped glasses for them to drink from. As ceramic wedding favors, I chose the pretty ceramic honey pots with heart shaped handles instead of the tea caddies for our friends and family. They were the perfect choice for our country western reception and they looked so cute. But, I came close to choosing one of the candle holders as their ceramic favor because they were just so gorgeous. We had little twinkle white lights hanging all around the dance area, and piles of haystacks scattered about.
